In plain terms

The CPD hours on this site are set by the Academy of Procurement under this policy. They are not accredited by an outside body. The Academy is not a registered training organisation, and our certificates and Diploma are not nationally recognised qualifications. This policy explains exactly how the hours are worked out, so anyone relying on them can check.

2

How hours are set

One CPD hour is one hour of structured learning time. Hours are rounded down to the nearest half hour.

What counts

An Academy activity carries CPD hours only if it has all four of these:

  1. Stated learning outcomes, published on the course page.
  2. Qualified delivery: a facilitator with practical experience in the subject, or content reviewed by one.
  3. A check of learning: an exercise, quiz, assignment or assessment.
  4. A record of completion: attendance recorded for workshops, or completion recorded in the learning platform. A workshop certificate needs at least 90% attendance.
4

Certificates

Each completed course, the Diploma and the Advanced Diploma earns a digital certificate. It records:

  • the learner's name, the activity and the date completed
  • the CPD hours and learning outcomes
  • a unique certificate ID, which can be checked against our records

An employer, or anyone else with the certificate ID, can check online at any time that a certificate is valid. The record is never deleted. The Academy may revoke a certificate issued in error or obtained dishonestly, and the verification page will say so.

5

Using your hours

Your certificate gives you the hours, dates and outcomes you need to record your CPD wherever you report it. Whoever you report to decides what they accept. Your employer can check online, at any time, that each certificate is valid.

Changes and questions

The Chief Executive Officer owns this policy and reviews it every twelve months. If a change affects hours already earned, we will email the people affected before it takes effect. Hours earned under an earlier version keep the value they had when earned.
